Antique Art Deco Pin Enamel & Seed Pearl, Bird, Shield Vermeil Turn of Century

Magnificent vermeil Turn of the Century Art Deco pin. The metal is vermeil which is sterling silver with a karat gold overlay or plating. Genuine seed pearls accent the design and the blue flower is enameled. There is a small flea bite in the enamel of one of the blue flower petals. A detailed gold bird holds the flower stem in its’ beak and an arrow goes thru the opening in the pin. Detailed accents in the metal which contribute to the artistry of the design are evident throughout the piece. A small linked chain accents the pin. It is likely this was originally a watch fob. The original hinge and pin on the pin are part of the original design of this piece although the barrel closure for the pin is new. It appears to be a 14K gold pin barrel as there is no discoloration where the barrel was soldered to the main unit of the back of the piece which would have indicated the added barrel was plated.
